Last month, it was rumored that Sony is working on a new handset codenamed Sirius that it might showcase at the CES 2014. Well, it turns out it’s incorrect as they already unveiled a miniature version of their flagship device known as Sony Xperia Z1 compact.
If you think Sony is done with new handsets, think again as a new rumor suggest that Sony is working on a new device codenamed Sirius, which it plans to unveil at the Mobile World Congress 2014 next month in Barcelona, Spain.
The news came from @evleaks, with an impressive track record for leaking information about unreleased handsets, who clearly mentions that Sony Sirius is a new handset that the Japenese OEM plans to unveil at the MWC 2014. He also tipped of some of the specifications, including a 5.2-inch display and a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chispet. Additionally, he also pointed to an interesting piece of information: the alleged Sony Sirius will make its way to the US on Verizon.
The report from @evleaks contradicts what we’ve heard before. The previous rumor mentioned it will pack a Snapdragon 805 under the hood, with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution packed inside a 5.2-inch display. Well, there’s a possibility that Sony might unveil a new flagship device to take on devices from other manufacturers. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S5, while HTC is rumored to launch the successor of HTC One.
Well, it’s just a rumor, and one should take it with a grain of salt. We’ll update you as soon as we come across more information.
