Sony may not have an amazing track record when it comes to handling backwards compatibility without screwing its customer base, but its history of pretending to search for solutions and then quietly giving up has been stellar. In about the same fashion as their announcement that they will be offering a “Goodwill” program for UMD owners who buy a PSP Go, Sony has now announced a PS Vita discount program for UMD owners.
Unsurprisingly, Sony says that “details of this service will be announced at a later date.” It also looks like PSOne games bought for the PSP may not be compatible with the Vita, potentially forcing nostalgic gamers to buy them again in their PS Suite/Android incarnation.
