Google recently announced their new Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. These two new Android devices will come with Android 7.1 Nougat which comes with some new features over Android 7.0 Nougat.
It looks like some of the Android 7.1 Nougat features will be exclusive to the Pixel and Pixel XL and will not be released for the existing Google Nexus devices.
Here are the Pixel and Pixel XL exclusive features:
- Pixel Launcher
- Google Assistant
- Unlimited storage for original quality photo / video
- Smart Storage
- Pixel Camera app
- Phone support (24-hour hotline)
- Screen-share (part of the support service)
Some of the features above could have been made available on the existing Nexus devices, Google is obviously hoping that by keeping these features on the new handsets, it will get people to upgrade to the new devices.
