Developers, makers and hobbyists that are looking for a new rechargeable soldering iron might be interested in a new version of the Solderdoodle Pro which was originally and successfully launched by the Kickstarter crowdfunding website.
The Solderdoodle Pro 2.0 has again been designed by Isaac Porras and provides a cordless device that melts lead-free solder for up to around 2 hours at a time. Watch the video below to learn more about this innovative newly updated soldering iron.
The design of the Solderdoodle Pro 2.0 enables you to recharge it from a USB port and it is equipped with replaceable tips enabling you to use your preferred tips whilst carrying out a variety of different soldering tasks. The Solderdoodle Pro 2.0 is capable of generating a heated tip of 850 degrees fahrenheit and drops down to around 600 degrees over two hour period.
“Solderdoodle Pro 2.0 is a portable, cordless, USB rechargeable soldering iron with improved ergonomic grip and design, and is based off my original Solderdoodle.
Solderdoodle Pro does what other portable soldering irons have failed to do, and that’s the ability to last at full power for over a half hour above 800ºF, over 2 hours above 500ºF, and charge the soldering iron from a USB port. You can literally go anywhere and still have a way to charge your Solderdoodle if there is a laptop, USB battery, wall adapter, or even a USB solar charger nearby!
Solderdoodle Pro uses a high-efficiency, high-power charge controller, uses the same battery that’s used in the Tesla electric car, and uses replaceable tips.”
The Solderdoodle Pro 2.0 project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
