Last month, Skype introduced an update that improved the chat experience for Skype users who use the application on multiple devices, and mentioned they will continue to release update to improve the use even further.
Recently, the folks at Skype released an update for Skype for Windows 8, bumping it to version 2.6, and introduced a bunch of new enhancements, mainly with the synchronization of calls and chats.
If you use Skype on multiple devices, you be glad to know that all your messages will be synced across all the devices, which means that you can continue your conversation from where you left off on another device. For example, if I’m talking to a person on my tablet, it will automatically get synced to my desktop so when I’ll use Skype on it, all my messages will already come there.
Secondly, there’s improvements to call synchronization as well. Skype says in a blog post, “When you pick up a call on any device and your modern Skype is on, the incoming ring will stop much faster. Whether you have Skype on a mobile, in your Outlook.com inbox, desktop, tablet or 2-in-1, Skype calls will sync up wherever you choose to take the call from.”
If you use the modern version of Skype on your tablet or computer, head over to the Windows Store and update the app.
