SecureWeb Offers Biometric Fingerprint Security For Your Passwords

Digital 24 has created a new solution to keep your passwords, and data management secure yet still easily accessible thanks to its biometric fingerprint access. The USB drive has been designed to store your passwords and data securely and will automatically allow access once the correct fingerprint is recognised. The developer and team at Digital 24 explain more about the biometric security device, launched via Kickstarter this week with the aim of raising $150,000 over the next 30 days.

After having several friends and relatives ask about best ways to remember or store passwords, we got to thinking about the idea. Wanting to develop a solution that you can hold in your hands, that is safe from intrusion, and easy to use, we then got to brainstorming.  What we came up with, is a thumb drive with 16 GB of storage, with a secure partition only accessible by your fingerprints, that will securely manage your passwords through our own software. You will also be able to store your most important files on the drive, and larger sizes will be available in the future.

Our device utilizes an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit encryption, which is used by the US government, and worldwide. It is technically unbreakable, as it would take all the supercomputers in the world billions of years to look at possible keys. Only the programmed fingerprints can unlock the secure partition of the drive, and gain access to your passwords and files stored on it. There are no temporary files used or left on any device you use our drive with, so there’s no way to hijack the data.

We have done everything to make sure our product is just as easy to use as it is secure. Once you receive your drive, you will plug it into a USB port. Initally you need to run the setup on a Windows PC, because of how Apple allows secure software. But after that you can use our drive on a Mac without problems! A dialogue will come up prompting you to complete an initial setup. This will include adding your fingerprints, up to 10 can be added including anyone else you would like to have access.
