Seagate’s pencil thin GoFlex Slim external hard rive has today started shipping and is now available to purchase for $99 for 320 GB of super slimness. Measuring just 124mm x 78mm x 9mm and weighing 160g.
The new hard drive features USB 3.0 connectivity and is equipped with a 7200 rpm internal disk drive that supports both Mac and Windows systems.With the inclusion of an NTFS formatted driver to support both reading and writing on Apple machines.
Mac users can reformat the drive if required but a GoFlex Slim for Mac version is currently being developed for release, that will be pre-formatted with HFS+.
With the combination of USB 3.0 connectivity and a 7,200 drive you can expect transfer speeds of around 40mb per second and the drive comes supplied with Seagate Dashboard software to help manage of your backups and encrypt your files.
