Schwalbe and wheel maker Syntace have combined forces to create a radically new type of bike tire which is equipped with dual chambers, providing extra protection for the possibility of getting a flat tire whilst cycling.
The new Double Chamber bike tyre a tubeless model, allows the inner chamber closest the rim to be inflated to higher pressures to keep the tyre tight to the rim and to provide a buffer for puncture-causing hits.
While the outer chamber can be inflated to lower pressures of around one bar (14psi) enabling the rolling resistance to be reduced over uneven ground, yet providing the rider with greater traction. Before the partnership Schwalbe and Syntace were working independently on separate projects, but decided to combine their resources to create the new revolutionary double chamber bike tire.
The new double chamber bike tyre that weighs under 200 grams or 7 oz will be officially unveiled in August of this year during the Eurobike trade show. Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
