Sapphire has this week announced that it has started delivering products from its newly formed Embedded Systems Business Unit, and has been developing graphics-intensive embedded systems for small form factor computing.
Sapphire will now start using its innovative design and manufacturing skills to deliver a range of standard and custom solutions for the embedded market, today’s press release explained.
Features and Specifications
The new Sapphire Embedded Solutions features dual display outputs, HD Audio, plenty of I/O options and it measures just 4 x 4 inches. This compact size makes it ideal for a variety of applications where space is at a premium, such as digital signage, industrial control systems, and compact gaming machines. Sapphire says the system will be available as board only, or housed in an extruded metal casing designed for wall mounting. This flexibility allows for easy integration into existing systems or the creation of new, custom solutions tailored to specific needs.
Advanced Technology and Collaboration
The new Sapphire Embedded division will also deliver a number of mainboard solutions based on the latest APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) technology from AMD. This collaboration leverages AMD’s powerful processing capabilities to enhance the performance and efficiency of Sapphire’s embedded systems. The use of AMD’s APUs ensures that these systems can handle demanding graphics and processing tasks, making them suitable for a wide range of applications from medical imaging to advanced robotics.
Scott Aylor, corporate vice president and general manager, AMD Embedded Solutions explains:
“AMD and SAPPHIRE have a long history of working closely together to deliver leading-edge graphics solutions, and we are excited for SAPPHIRE to join AMD’s embedded partner ecosystem,”-“We look forward to seeing AMD based solutions from SAPPHIRE to address the embedded market.”
This partnership is expected to drive innovation in the embedded systems market, providing customers with high-performance, reliable solutions that can meet the demands of modern applications. The integration of AMD’s technology into Sapphire’s products will likely result in systems that offer superior graphics performance, energy efficiency, and overall system stability.
In addition to the hardware, Sapphire’s Embedded Systems Business Unit is also focusing on providing comprehensive support and customization services. This includes firmware development, system integration, and long-term support to ensure that customers can maximize the value of their investment. By offering these services, Sapphire aims to build strong, lasting relationships with its clients and become a trusted partner in the embedded systems industry.
The launch of Sapphire’s Embedded Systems Business Unit marks a significant expansion of the company’s product portfolio and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. As the demand for embedded systems continues to grow, Sapphire is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market.
