SanDisk has this week unveiled a new range of solid state drives that the company has created in the form of SanDisk Z4000s, to offer price points that are comparative with the current HDD offerings on the market.
Making SSD drives and their benefits available to a wider audience, offering low power consumption, together with faster read and write speeds.
SanDisk explains that their new Z400s SSD range of drives will offer users 20 times the performance compared to a hard drive, while using only about 1/20th as much power and offering 5 times the reliability. Rizwan Ahmed, senior director of product marketing, client platform solutions, SanDisk explains more :
“The Z400s represents a feat of engineering that addresses the needs of two distinct markets—PC OEM manufacturers and embedded application designers,”-“With a single architecture, SanDisk is able to provide OEMs with an affordable solution for displacing HDDs in today’s cutting edge consumer devices, and help embedded application designers avoid overpaying for un-needed space—all while delivering the peak performance and high-reliability that only SSDs can supply.”
