Google already announced that the Nexus devices as well as the Google Play edition handsets will be the first to get the Android 4.4 KitKat updates in the coming weeks. It was also reported that several other Android handsets including HTC One, Moto X and a few others will get the taste of Android 4.4 KitKat in the coming months.
If you’re wondering when you’re Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4 will get the update, you might have to wait a little. Samsung gave a vague statement when asked about the availability of Android 4.4 KitKat for its handsets, mentioning they’ll confirm the plans about its launch “in due course.”
A Samsung spokesman told CNET UK, “”Samsung UK will announce rollout plans for Android 4.4 in due course.” This doesn’t mean that the latest Samsung mobiles such as Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4 will not get the update. All we have to do is wait for the Korean manufacturer to issue a statement, but don’t get too excited as it should take a few months in my opinion.
Recently, Samsung started Android 4.3 roll out for Galaxy S4 in various regions, which will be followed by Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note 2 in November and December, respectively. The update for Galaxy S4 is not yet available in many regions, but at least they confirmed that the roll out will complete in the coming weeks.
We’ll update you as soon as the Korean OEM issues a statement about the launch of Android 4.4 KitKat onto its popular phones.
