Samsung has created a new flexible rollable battery that the company plans to use in future Samsung wearable devices, and the battery can be rolled into various shapes.
The company has been showing off these new flexible rollable batteries at the InterBattery exhibition in Seoul, South Korea, and the batteries can function normally whether they are flat or rolled into a particular shape.
The technology could help the company improve battery life on Samsung Wearable devices like their range of smart watches, one of the batteries that was showcase was a pin type battery that measures just 20 x 3.6mm and comes with a capacity of 10 mAh, this is roughly the size of a pill capsule.
After seeing the photos of the rollable and flexible battery, one application for Samsung wearable devices comes to mind, as the battery can function when it is flat and also rolled up, Samsung could possibly integrate the battery into a watch strap on their smar twatches.
The company has yet to announce their exact plans for these new batteries, and there are no details as yet on which devices will be the first to get this new technology.
