Samsung has just started shipping it latest compact SMX Camcorders which it showcased at CES last month. There are three models in the new range, the SMX-F50, F53, and F54, capturing 720 x 480 video at 60i, feature up to 65X zoom, and they incorporate a host of new automatic features.
The SMX-50 series is equipped with a 1/6-inch CCD sensor and 2.7-inch LCD and accepts SD and SDHC cards. The F50 has no on-board memory included, however the F53 has 8GB and F54 16GB of flash memory. Samsung says a continuous recording time of 6 hours 20 minutes is obtainable using a 16GB memory card.
The full range of camcorders include a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan lens at f/1.8 with a 2.7 inch LCD viewing screen and have face detection features, time lapse recording, USB charging and include Samsung’s Hybrid Digital image stabilization, 52x optical zoom.
The SMX-F50, F53, and F54, are priced at $199, $249, and $299 respectively and will be available in either black, silver, red, and blue.
