Samsung releases monthly security updates for the majority of its devices every month. The company has now revealed that some 2016 Galaxy smartphones will no longer be getting the update.
The 2016 Samsung Galaxy A3, Samsung Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J3 will no longer get the monthly security updates for Google’s Android OS.
As well as removing these three handsets from the monthly Android updates, Samsung also added some devices to quarterly updates. The handsets getting the quarterly updates will be the Galaxy Tab Active2, the 2018 Galaxy J2 and 2018 Galaxy A8+. Samsung also added the 2018 Galaxy A8 to the monthly update list.
