Samsung has scheduled its Unpacked event on August 23rd where the company is expected to unveil the highly rumored Galaxy Note 8 smartphone, but it seems that’s not the only device which will see the light of the day at the event.
According to a new rumor Samsung is also expected to reveal the fitness-oriented Gear Fit 2 pro wearable device at the event.
Gear Fit 2 Pro will be the third fitness tracker from the Korean company, powered by the Tizen operating system. Unlike its predecessor, the Gear Fit 2 Pro is expected to come with IP-68 certification which means that it cannot be fully submersed in water. It can handle water, but cannot be fully submersed as the Gear Fit 2 which came 5 ATM water resistance allowing users to use it while swimming for tracking and can be submersed in water.
The report continues to mention that the wearable device will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices, and will come with a year’s subscription to Under Armour’s premium tier of digital services.
There’s no word about the exact availability date or pricing, but we’ll find it out soon enough. The event is just over a week away. We’ll update you as soon as we get any other information.
