The new Samsung Galaxy Tab is due to go on sale shortly, and it seems that the new Android tablet will use a Gorilla Glass display, which is used in the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.
The Galaxy Tab features a seven-inch portable screen, video calling, full-web browsing functions, and is powered by Android 2.2. The durable, thin display and sleek design of the GALAXY Tab is enabled in part by using Corning Gorilla glass as a cover glass. Continuing a tradition of more than 150 years of innovation in materials science and technology, Corning Gorilla glass is an environmentally friendly alkali-aluminosilicate thin-sheet glass designed specifically to function as a cover glass for high-end display devices such as notebook PCs, televisions, and mobile phones.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab features a 1GHz processor, Google’s Android 2.2, Froyo operating system, a front facing camera for video calls and a 7-inch LCD display and weighs just 380g. Have a look and our article on Android vs iPhone to see which smartphone and mobile platform is best for you.
