Last week we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 would be headed to US mobile carrier T-Mobile, and now the tablet is available from the carrier.
T-Mobile are offering the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 for a payment of $0 up front and then $13 per month, the total price works out at around $312.
Specifications and Features
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 features a 7 inch display that has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. This resolution is quite standard for entry-level tablets, providing decent clarity for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, watching videos, and reading e-books. The tablet is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, which should be sufficient for basic multitasking and running most apps smoothly.
The tablet also features a choice of either 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage. While this may seem limited compared to modern standards, the storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot, allowing users to add additional space for apps, photos, and other media.
Camera and Connectivity
The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 also comes with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and a 3 megapixel rear camera. While these cameras may not compete with those found on high-end smartphones, they are adequate for video calls and casual photography. The front camera is particularly useful for video conferencing apps like Zoom or Skype, making it a practical choice for both personal and professional use.
In terms of connectivity, the tablet includes A-GPS for location services, WiFi and WiFi Direct for internet connectivity, and Bluetooth 3.0 for connecting to other devices such as wireless headphones or speakers. The inclusion of WiFi Direct is a notable feature, as it allows for faster and more efficient file transfers between compatible devices without the need for a wireless access point.
The tablet is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery, which should provide a reasonable amount of usage time between charges. Depending on usage patterns, users can expect several hours of screen-on time, making it suitable for both short trips and daily use.
The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 runs on Android Jelly Bean, an older version of the Android operating system. While it may not have all the latest features and security updates found in newer versions, Jelly Bean is still a capable OS that supports a wide range of apps and functionalities.
