Samsung are rumored to be announcing their new Galaxy S4 smartphone at MWC 2013 next month. The device is expected to launch in May of this year, and according to a recent report by Sammobile, the Galaxy S4 may come with a new Super AMOLED display.
Samsung showed off some new displays at this year’s CES. One which is scheduled to launch in quarter one of 2013 is a new 4.99 inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 440 pixels per inch. This display technology promises to deliver stunning visuals with vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for multimedia consumption and gaming.
Potential Features and Specifications
Samsung could possibly use this new 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display in their Galaxy S4 smartphone. This would mark a significant upgrade from the Galaxy S3, which featured a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The new display would not only be larger but also offer a much higher pixel density, resulting in sharper and more detailed images.
Other rumored specifications include a quad-core 2GHz Samsung Exynos 5450 processor and a Mali-T658 GPU. This combination is expected to provide exceptional performance, capable of handling the most demanding applications and games with ease. Additionally, the Galaxy S4 is rumored to come with 2GB of RAM, which would ensure smooth multitasking and quick app switching.
The camera setup on the Galaxy S4 is also expected to see an upgrade. Rumors suggest a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which would be a significant improvement over the 8-megapixel camera found on the Galaxy S3. This new camera could offer better low-light performance, faster autofocus, and enhanced image processing capabilities. On the front, a 2-megapixel camera is expected, which would be ideal for video calls and selfies.
Software and Additional Features
In terms of software, the Galaxy S4 is likely to run on the latest version of Android, possibly Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or even the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Samsung is known for adding its own custom features and enhancements to the Android operating system, and the Galaxy S4 is expected to be no different. Features like Smart Stay, which keeps the screen on as long as you are looking at it, and S Voice, Samsung’s voice assistant, are likely to be included.
There are also rumors of new software features that could debut with the Galaxy S4. One such feature is “Eye Scroll,” which would allow users to scroll through web pages and documents using eye movements. Another potential feature is “Air View,” which would let users preview content by hovering their finger over the screen without actually touching it.
Samsung has also been focusing on improving the build quality of its devices. The Galaxy S4 could feature a more premium design with materials like aluminum or a new type of polycarbonate that offers better durability and a more premium feel.
