Back in January we told you that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 would come with new eye tracking technology in the form of two new features called Eye Scroll and Eye Pause, and now the New York Times has received some information which confirms this new technology will launch with the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The two new eye tracking features that will come with the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be Eye Scroll and Eye Pause, these were revealed in January when two new Samsung trademark filings were discovered.

We speculated previously on how these new Eye Scroll and Eye Pause features might work, and according to the NYT, Eye Scroll will work in the way we thought, it will be used for when you are looking at a website or reading something on your Galaxy S4 and when you get to the bottom of what you are reading it will automatically scroll down to the next part.

According to the NYT report, the information has come from a Samsung employee who explained how the Eye Scroll feature would work, although he didn’t reveal any details about how Eye Pause would work.

Personally I think Eye Pause will be used for when you are watching videos, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will track your eyes whilst you are looking at the display, and if you move your eyes away from the screen the video will be automatically paused.

Another new feature that will be introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S4 is Samsung Orb, which works in a similar way to Photo Sphere on the latest version of Android, the Galaxy S4 will feature a 13 megapixel camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in US and international versions, the international version will use Samsung’s new 8 core Exynos 5 Octa processor with a clock speed of 1.8GHz and the US version will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor clocked at 1.9Ghz.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will comes with a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it will also feature 2GB of RAM and a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of build in storage, plus Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Samsung will announce their new Galaxy S4 at a press event in New York on the 14th of March, the event will be live steamed in Times Square and also online via YouTube.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to go on sale in the US and Europe at the same time in April, and we are expecting the handset to be available some time between the 15th and 22nd of April.
