The next flagship smartphone from Samsung will be the Galaxy Note 9 which is expected in August. Now we have some details about next year’s Samsung Galaxy S10.
We previously heard some rumors about the specifications on next year’s Galaxy S10 handsets. According to a recent report, the handsets are codenamed “Beyond” internally at Samsung. The Galaxy S9 was codenamed ‘Star’.
Display and Design
The Galaxy S10 is rumored to come with a 5.8-inch display, while the Galaxy S10 Plus is expected to feature a larger 6.3-inch display. Both handsets are said to come with an under-the-display fingerprint sensor, a feature that has been highly anticipated by Samsung fans. This new technology would allow for a more seamless and sleek design, eliminating the need for a physical fingerprint sensor on the back or front of the device.
In addition to the fingerprint sensor, the Galaxy S10 series is expected to feature an edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels, continuing Samsung’s trend of maximizing screen real estate. The displays are likely to be Super AMOLED, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks, which Samsung is known for.
Performance and Hardware
Samsung is expected to use two different processors again for the Galaxy S10 series, similar to previous models. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and the new Samsung Exynos 9820 processor will be used, varying by region. The Snapdragon 855 is expected to be used in the U.S. and China, while the Exynos 9820 will likely be used in Europe and other regions. Both processors are expected to offer significant performance improvements over their predecessors, with better energy efficiency and enhanced AI capabilities.
The Galaxy S10 series is also rumored to come with at least 6GB of RAM, with higher-end models potentially featuring up to 8GB or even 10GB of RAM. Storage options are expected to start at 128GB, with higher capacity models available, possibly up to 1TB, catering to users who need extensive storage for media and applications.
Camera and Additional Features
The camera setup on the Galaxy S10 series is expected to see significant upgrades. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S10 will feature a triple-lens rear camera system, similar to what has been seen on other flagship devices. This setup could include a standard lens, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens, providing users with a versatile photography experience. The front camera is also expected to see improvements, with better low-light performance and enhanced AI features for superior selfies.
Another exciting feature that is rumored to be included in the Galaxy S10 series is 5G connectivity. While not all models may support 5G, it is expected that at least one variant will be 5G-capable, providing faster internet speeds and improved network reliability.
Samsung is also expected to include its latest version of the Bixby assistant, along with other software enhancements to improve user experience. The Galaxy S10 series will likely run on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, with Samsung’s custom One UI on top.
We are expecting the new Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus to be made official at Mobile World Congress 2019 in February of next year. As soon as we get more details about the handsets, we will let you guys know.
