Last week the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 started to get the Android Oreo update in Europe. Yesterday we heard the update is coming to the handset in the US in the next two to three weeks. Now the update has started to roll out to the device in India.
Good news for owners of the Galaxy Note 9 in India as the update has been released for some versions of the handset. A number if users have reported receiving the update on Reddit. The update appears to be around 1.47GB in size and it has been released as an over the Air update.
The update also includes the March security patch for Google’s Android OS. This patch fixes a number of vulnerabilities in Android and also in Samsung’s own software. The Android 8.0 Oreo update brings the Galaxy Note 8 to firmware version N950FXXU3CRC1.
You can check to see if the Android 8.0 Oreo update is available for your Galaxy Note 8 smartphone from the settings menu.
