Last week, Samsung introduced the mid-range Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 Pro in India carrying a price tag of INR 17,990 and INR 20,900, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Max is now available for sale in India starting today and will be available for purchase through offline retail stores as well as the Samsung India site.
Specifications and Features
Samsung Galaxy J7 Max comes with a pretty decent set of specifications on board, including a 5.7-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The processing is handled by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This combination ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. The handset also features a 13MP rear and front-facing camera for photos and videos, which is quite impressive for a mid-range device. The cameras are equipped with LED flash, ensuring good quality images even in low-light conditions.
Additionally, the Galaxy J7 Max includes a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand storage up to 256GB, which is beneficial for those who need extra space for apps, photos, and videos. The device is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery, which should provide a full day of usage on a single charge. It also supports dual-SIM functionality, making it convenient for users who need to manage two phone numbers simultaneously. The handset ships with Android 7.0 Nougat, offering a user-friendly interface and access to the latest features and security updates.
Samsung Pay and Other Features
One of the standout features of the Galaxy J7 Max is its support for Samsung’s mobile payment solution, Samsung Pay. This makes it the first mid-range device to offer this feature, allowing users to make secure payments using their smartphone. Samsung Pay is compatible with both NFC and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technologies, making it widely accepted at various payment terminals.
The Galaxy J7 Max also comes with a Smart Glow notification ring around the rear camera, which lights up for alerts and notifications. This feature adds a touch of style and functionality, making it easier for users to stay updated without constantly checking their phone.
On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 Pro is expected to hit the retail shelves in the country sometime in mid-July. The J7 Pro is anticipated to come with slightly better specifications, including a Super AMOLED display, a more powerful Exynos processor, and a larger battery. We’ll update you as soon as the handset is available for sale in the country.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Max offers a compelling package for its price, with a large display, decent performance, good camera capabilities, and the added benefit of Samsung Pay. It is a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market in India, catering to users who seek a balance between performance and affordability.
