Samsung has done really well with their mobile phones and smartphones over the last couple of years, and their Galaxy range of devices are among the best selling smartphones available today.
Now it looks like Samsung is interested in acquiring mobile companies, in an effort to expand its smartphones and mobile phones, according to Samsung’s president J.K. Shin who recently spoke to the WSJ.
The technology industry is growing very quickly and it is too much of a burden to try to do everything in-house,” Shin said. “There are many qualified workers from India that are very skilled in software. And there are small companies that we can acquire that have good research and development capabilities.”
There are no details on what companies Samsung are considering, there has been a rumor that RIM could be a potential target, but Shin made it clear that Samsung were not interested in acquiring RIM.
