We talked about the Saleen S1 not long ago when the slick ride debuted in LA. Looking at the car and the specifications, it was easy to assume that the S1 would be a very expensive car. It turns out that the S1 is pricey, but not nearly as expensive as you might have thought.
You can pick up one starting at $100,000, certainly not cheap, but right in there with cars from Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW. The S1 is a featherweight with a curb weight of only 2685 pounds. It gets a 450hp, 350 lb-ft of torque turbo four that can push the car from naught to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
The stock transmission is a 6-speed manual and the optional is a paddle shift automatic. That 2.5L turbo four is built entirely in-house by Saleen. The S1 also promises to pull 1.2G on the track. Deliveries are expected to start in late summer 2018.
