Ruf are well known for producing modified versions of the Porsche 911 and now the company has unveiled their new Ruf CTR.
If you look at the photo above you would think that the Ruf CTR was built from a 911, it isn’t, the car features a completely bespoke chassis and as we can see from the photos, the car takes its design cues from older 911’s.
Performance and Specifications
The Ruf CTR is powered by a 3.6 litre flat six with twin turbos and it will come with a massive 700 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque. This impressive powertrain ensures that the CTR is not just about looks but also about delivering an exhilarating driving experience. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, which is a nod to driving purists who prefer the tactile engagement of a manual gearbox over modern automatic transmissions.
According to Ruf, their new CTR will come with a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 225 miles per hour. These figures place the CTR in the upper echelon of high-performance sports cars, competing with some of the most renowned supercars in the market today.
“We began development on the new CTR five years ago with the goal of creating a thrilling, analog driving experience that combines an amazing power-to-weight ratio, manual transmission and modern racing technology,” said Estonia Ruf.
Design and Exclusivity
The design of the Ruf CTR is heavily inspired by the classic Porsche 911, particularly the iconic 1987 CTR “Yellowbird.” The new CTR retains the timeless silhouette and aesthetic cues of its predecessor while incorporating modern design elements and materials. The body is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber, which not only enhances performance by reducing weight but also adds to the car’s structural rigidity.
Inside, the CTR features a minimalist yet functional cockpit designed to keep the driver focused on the road. High-quality materials such as leather and Alcantara are used throughout the interior, providing a luxurious feel without compromising on the car’s sporty character. The analog gauges and manual controls further emphasize the car’s driver-centric philosophy.
There will be just 30 units of the Ruf CTR made, making it an extremely exclusive vehicle. Each unit will be hand-built to the customer’s specifications, ensuring that no two cars are exactly alike. This level of customization and exclusivity is a significant part of the CTR’s appeal, attracting collectors and enthusiasts who value uniqueness and craftsmanship.
The Ruf CTR is a remarkable blend of classic design and modern engineering. It pays homage to the legendary 911 while pushing the boundaries of what a high-performance sports car can be. With its bespoke chassis, powerful engine, and limited production run, the CTR is set to become a highly sought-after collector’s item. Although the price has not been disclosed, it is expected to be in the high six-figure range, reflecting its exclusivity and the level of craftsmanship involved.
In summary, the Ruf CTR is not just a car; it’s a statement. It embodies the passion and dedication of Ruf to create a vehicle that offers an unparalleled driving experience. For those fortunate enough to own one of the 30 units, the CTR promises to deliver a thrilling ride that will be remembered for years to come.
