A new camera aimed at the action sports fan has launched called the Replay XD1080. The Replay brand has been around for a while, but this is the first offering that does 1080p resolution from the company. The little camera is the smallest 1080p around and weighs less than three ounces. The camera is water resistant and can survive spills and crashes when in use.
The camera records in 1080p resolution at 30 fps and can record 720p at up to 60fps. It has a 135-degree field of view so the video has no fish eye effect. The camera can be mounted on the hood of a car and has an optional suction cup mount. It can also be mounted to clothing, helmets, skateboards and a lot of other things.
The camera can stream live video from the HDMI port out to any device that can accept HDMI video. It can also shoot 5MP resolution photos in time-lapse mode in 3, 5, 15, and 30-second intervals. The price of the new camera is unknown at this time. The existing version of the Replay XD is $180.
