We are not expecting to see the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones until later in the year. Now references to the handset have been spotted in the in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
Last years Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones launched in October, so we are not expecting to see the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL until at least September or October of this year.
Cherrypick “Add device config to decide which Auto Selection Network UI to use.” This change added the config because the HAL V_1_2 only supports Pixel 3, and the new Auto Selection Network UI is based on HAL V_1_2. So we set the flag to decide which Auto Selection Network UI should be used based in the device type
Google completed its purchase of part of HTC’s mobile business earlier in the year, the new mobile division at Google will be producing this years Pixel smartphones for the company. You can see the reference to the new Pixel handsets below.
As soon as we get some more details about the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL handsets, including some photos of the handsets, we will let you guys know.
