Makers that enjoy building projects using the awesome Raspberry Pi mini PC might be interested in a new Circadia Sunrise Lamp, which has been designed and created by Florian. Who like many of us enjoys sleeping but hates being woken up by traditional alarm clocks.
The Circadia alarm lamp has been under development for the last two years and stands 2m tall and consists of three sections : The top section, housing a 3D printed omnidirectional speaker system and orbiting text display, which has been combined with the midsection that houses 288 independently controlled RGB NeoPixel LED, and finally the base which is fitted with a midwoofer, Raspberry Pi, audio amp, and power supplies.

[The lamp] makes it quite a bit easier for me to get out of bed every morning (with a silly grin on my face). It’s really surprisingly effective and hard to describe. Rather than being resentful that it is already time to get up, I am now more inclined to be eager to get going. If someone had told me how well this actually works I would have put a sunrise lamp in my bedroom years ago.
To build your very own Circadia sunrise lamp, Florian has created all the instructions you will need via the link below. If you enjoy building Pi projects you might be interested in our comprehensive list of Raspberry Pi displays, HATS and small screens.
