The guys over at AnandTech have been testing out Qualcomm’s latest smartphone processor, the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, which we saw some videos of yesterday.
Now we have some benchmarks on this new dual-core 1.5GHz processor, which you can see below, and it was put through a number of tests which included Linpack, SunSpider, BrowserMark, Vellamo, and more.
Benchmark Results and Analysis
As you can see from the benchmark above, the results look pretty impressive, and the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 seems to be quite a bit ahead of any of the devices available on the market today. The Linpack test, which measures the processor’s floating-point computing power, showed that the Snapdragon S4 outperformed many of its competitors. In the SunSpider test, which evaluates JavaScript performance, the S4 also demonstrated superior speed and efficiency.
The BrowserMark test, which assesses overall browser performance, further highlighted the Snapdragon S4’s capabilities, making it clear that this processor is designed to handle complex web applications with ease. Vellamo, a benchmark specifically designed to measure mobile web browser performance, also showed the Snapdragon S4 leading the pack.
