Qualcomm’s current flagship processor is the Snapdragon 845, the company is expected to launch its new Snapdragon 855 before the end of the year.
This will be the processor used in many of next year’s flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus and now it looks like it has been benchmarked.
A new listing on GeekBench for a Qualcomm processor is apparently for the new Snapdragon 855 processor. It scored higher than the existing Snapdragon 845 with a single core score of 3697 and a multi-core score of 10469.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency
The Snapdragon 855 is expected to bring significant improvements in both performance and efficiency over its predecessor. The higher benchmark scores indicate that the new processor will be more powerful, which is crucial for handling the increasingly demanding applications and games that are being developed. Additionally, the Snapdragon 855 is likely to be built on a more advanced manufacturing process, possibly a 7nm process, which would contribute to better power efficiency and longer battery life for devices.
Advanced Features and Capabilities
Beyond raw performance, the Snapdragon 855 is anticipated to introduce several advanced features. One of the most talked-about is the integration of 5G capabilities. As 5G networks start to roll out globally, having a processor that can support these faster data speeds will be a significant advantage for flagship smartphones. This will enable quicker downloads, smoother streaming, and more reliable connectivity.
Another expected feature is improved AI processing. The Snapdragon 855 is likely to include a more powerful AI engine, which can enhance various aspects of the smartphone experience. This includes better camera performance through advanced image processing, more accurate voice recognition, and smarter predictive text input.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 855 is expected to support enhanced graphics performance, which will be beneficial for mobile gaming. With the rise of mobile eSports and graphically intensive games, having a processor that can handle these demands is essential. The new Adreno GPU in the Snapdragon 855 is expected to deliver better graphics rendering and smoother gameplay.
As yet there are no details on exactly when Qualcomm’s next-generation mobile processor will be made official, but it is expected to be announced at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, which usually takes place in December. As soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
