Allowing for a moment’s aside, Quake 3 Arena on the iPad should pull in a whole new generation of gamers who missed the golden years of first person shooters. Before Halo and mega-franchises like Battlefield, Callof Duty, and Medal of Honor swept the earth, ridiculous sci-fi horror was a staple of the subgenre (i.e. Doom, Half Life). Man, thinking of our Quake days back then brings a tear to the eye.
