Some of our readers might remember the awesome PowerUp 3.0 smartphone controlled paper airplane project that launched on Kickstarter back in November last year. Well the PowerUp 3.0 project has just over 12 days remaining and has nearly passed $1 million in funding.
The PowerUp 3.0 smartphone controlled paper airplane is fitted with an ultra lightweight control system which uses Bluetooth low energy connectivity to make the link to your smartphone. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the PowerUp 3.0 project and see it in action.
The PowerUp 3.0 smartphone controlled paper plane system has a useable range of around 55 meters and is also fitted with a Micro-USB charging port that can be used with the supplied 1000 mAh Lithium Polymer power pack, which is available when you pledge for the Perfect Package over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website.
Setup is as simple as :
– Fold It: Simply fold a piece of copier paper into a paper airplane
– Attach It: Attach the Smart Module to your paper plane with the patented clips underneath the Smart Module.
– Connect It: Start the app to connect to the Smart Module with your iPhone.
– Fly It: Push throttle to full and launch the paper airplane high up into the sky. Tilt your smartphone to the left or to the right to steer your plane, increase or reduce throttle to go up or down.
