The developers at Minut have designed and created a new smart home security system which requires no invasive cameras or complex setups and comes complete with its own companion application allowing you to monitor your home from wherever you may be. Receiving notifications if the “friendly” smart home security system detects anything unusual. Watch the video below to learn more about the Point home security system which is this week launched by a Kickstarter to raise the $25,000 required to make the jump into production.
The team at Minut explain more about their home security system and the inspiration behind it as well as the features you can expect to utilise once it’s set up in your home.
Point is a complete home alarm in a single device. It lets you know if something is wrong at home – without using invasive cameras. When the unexpected happens, Point alerts you and your family, friends and neighbours, so that your community can help each other. Point is more than just a home alarm; it is giving your home a voice. By utilising environmental sensors and machine learning Point understands important events in your home.
Point notifies you of events that matter the most to you: intrusions, smoke, loud music late at night or sudden temperature changes. This information is presented on your phone and will be available to you no matter where you are. Point does this all while respecting your privacy—no cameras or eavesdropping. Point senses when you are leaving your home and automatically switches on the burglar alarm. If you prefer to turn the alarm on and off by yourself – there’s also a setting for that!
Point is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges starting from just $69 and delivery expected to take place during May 2018. For full specifications and more information jump over to the official Kickstarter campaign page via the link below.
