Pipsta Smart Printer Powered By A Raspberry Pi

Makers, hobbyists and developers that enjoy building projects using the awesome Raspberry Pi mini PC may enjoy building this awesome Raspberry Pi powered printer called the Pipsta.

The Pipsta is a thermal printer that produces images by heating the thermal paper as it passes over the print head, allowing you to print quietly and quickly and reminds me of the Sinclair printer I had with my ZX81 back in the 1980’s.

The Pipsta is compatible with the new Raspberry Pi 2 B model and is exclusively available to purchase from Modmypi with kits available to purchase for £69.99 + VAT. Pipsta will also donate 10 percent of the profit of every Pipsta sold in 2015 to the Foundation if you would prefer to purchase a complete system off-the-shelf.

The Pipsta kit contains everything you need to start printing with your Raspberry Pi with each kit containing the following components, simply supply a version of the Raspberry Pi and a little software :

– A Pipsta printer
– Acrylic case
– Power supply unit
– 1 thermal label roll
– 1 thermal paper roll
– Pipsta printer cables

For more information on the new Pipsta thermal printer powered by a Raspberry Pi jump over to the official website for details via the link below.
