The device is a USB gadget you connect to your PC. It monitors what you type and the first time you use a bad word, it lights a red stop symbol to remind you. Make a second naughty word on screen and a foul smell is produced.
That stinky smell supposedly lingers to both remind you to not do it again and to shame you when anyone walks by your desk and thinks you busted a groupie. The point of the lingering smell is to remind you what you type stays around too.
