Pandora the streaming Internet radio service has this week announced that it will be expanded its collection by adding a new Comedy Genome Project to its library. Including great comedy acts such as Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Cheech & Chong, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, George Carlin, Jerry Seinfeld, Joan Rivers, Richard Pryor and Mitch Hedberg.
Pandora founder Tim Westergren explained that comedy clips have been one of the most requested additions from Panadora listeners, and said that Pandora has taken the same approach to comedy as we have to music.
The Comedy Genome Project will follow the model of Pandora’s Music Genome Project, linking comedians based upon material and presentation, using over 100 common traits. The first selection will include 10,000 sketches from more than 700 different comics and will continue to be added.
