
As Facebook continues to develop a consumer version of its Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, thatis expected to be made available to preorder by the end of this year with shipping starting early in 2016.
It seems there is a large demand for inexpensive virtual reality headsets and the latest figures reveal that Google has now shipped more than 1 million Google Cardboard virtual reality viewers, since its unveiling back in 2014 at Google I/O.
The latest Google Cardboard design was unveiled at the recent Google I/O 2015 and now supports larger phones with screens up to 6 inches in size. Other new features are a button that works with any phone, and a construction that now assembles and disassembles in just 3 steps.

Google also this week announced the launched of its Google Cardboard iOS app for Apple users to now enjoy the virtual worlds Google has created in its VR demo.
