Earlier this week we saw a torture test video of the Oppo Reno smartphone and now we have another video, this one gives us a look at what is inside the handset.
The handset comes with a popup camera for selfies, although the design of the camera is different from other popup cameras.
Design and Display
As a reminder, the device comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which adds an extra layer of durability against scratches and minor drops. The bezel-less design provides an immersive viewing experience, and the in-display fingerprint sensor ensures quick and secure access to the device.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the Oppo Reno is powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor, which is known for its efficiency and performance. This chipset is capable of handling everyday tasks with ease, from browsing the web to playing graphic-intensive games. The handset features either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and quick app launches. Users have a choice of 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, videos, and other media. Unfortunately, the device does not support expandable storage, so users will need to choose their storage option wisely.
Camera Capabilities
The Oppo Reno comes with dual rear cameras, which include a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The 48-megapixel camera uses Sony’s IMX586 sensor, which is known for its excellent low-light performance and high-resolution images. The 5-megapixel depth sensor helps in capturing portrait shots with a pleasing bokeh effect. The camera app offers various modes such as Night Mode, Panorama, and Pro Mode, allowing users to get creative with their photography.
The front-facing selfie camera is a 16-megapixel shooter housed in a unique popup mechanism. Unlike traditional popup cameras that rise vertically, the Oppo Reno’s camera pivots out at an angle, resembling a shark fin. This design not only looks cool but also helps in reducing the wear and tear on the mechanism. The selfie camera supports AI beautification and portrait mode, ensuring that users can capture stunning selfies in any lighting condition.
Battery Life and Software
The Oppo Reno is equipped with a 3,765mAh battery, which provides a full day of usage on a single charge. The device supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up their battery when needed. On the software front, the Oppo Reno runs on ColorOS 6, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. ColorOS 6 offers a clean and intuitive user interface with various customization options and features such as Game Space, Smart Assistant, and Gesture Navigation.
Additional Features
The Oppo Reno also comes with a range of additional features that enhance the overall user experience. The device includes Dolby Atmos support for an immersive audio experience, whether you’re watching movies or listening to music. It also features NFC for contactless payments and quick pairing with other devices. The Oppo Reno is available in various color options, including Ocean Green and Jet Black, allowing users to choose a style that suits their personality.
The Oppo Reno is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a unique design, powerful performance, and versatile camera capabilities. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a gamer, or someone who simply wants a reliable and stylish device, the Oppo Reno has something to offer.
