OnePlus One is a good Android smartphone, which brings high-end specifications at a very affordable price. However, the smartphone has seen its fair share of issues in the past year, and not to forget that it’s not a very easy task to get your hands on one since it requires users to get an invite. The pre-order system has been announced to commence next month.
It seems the company plans to launch its successor in the second or third quarter next year. The new comes from the company itself during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) held on Reddit. They further revealed it may be smaller in size compared to the current OnePlus One.
One of the users asked about its successor, and the response was, “We’ve seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We’re thinking about it.”
The company may attract a wider audience with a smaller device, but it all comes down to availability. We’ve seen how poorly OnePlus One is available, especially because of the invite system — which the company is proud of. They didn’t reveal if it’s going to follow the same invite system or not, but it probably will, at least in the beginning.
There’s a possibility that it may launch with a proper pre-order system, but we have doubts about it.
