Not too long ago, OnePlus posted a teaser hinting at “ways to shake up the tech industry.” Many of us thought the company is preparing a new product which will see the light of the day on June 1st, but it seems that’s not the case.
The folks at FoneArena, citing their source, OnePlus will not announce any new smartphone on June 1st, but a price cut for the current OnePlus One.
The handset currently retails for $348 for the 64GB while the 16GB version costs $298. The report mentions the price of the handsets will be dropped by $50 which will bring the price of the 16GB down to $248 while the 64GB version will carry a $298 price tag.
OnePlus One still offers one of the best specifications available in most high-end smartphones. And, at this price (if it’s true), it’s an extremely attractive offer. It sports a 5.5-inch display sporting a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5Ghz, 3GB of RAM and 16/64GB storage options. There’s a 13MP camera for photos and videos, 5MP front-facing camera and ships with Cyanogenmod based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
If the price cut happens, anyone planning to pick up the OnePlus One?
