The team behind the OnePlus One smartphone have announced that they are increasing the price of the handset in Europe and the new prices will come into effect from the 25th of March.
At the moment the 16GB OnePlus One smartphone retails for €269 in Europe, this model will cost €299 in Europe when the price goes up next week.
The 64GB of the OnePlus One currently retails for €299 in Europe although on the 25th of March this model will set you back €349.
OnePlus have said that the reason they are increasing the prices of the handsets in Europe is due to the current value of the Euro, they also said that at the moment they are selling the handset at a loss in Europe.
We sincerely wish that we had an alternative option here. We explored all possible avenues in an attempt to avoid any changes, but as a startup with exceedingly-slim margins, our current euro prices simply aren’t sustainable.
The company has said that only the prices of the smartphone will be increased in Europe, any accessories will be available at the same price when the new handset pricing comes into effect on the 25th of March.
