Smartwatches are by far the most popular wearable devices on the market. Most of them available today are designed to send notifications from your smartphone to your wrist making it easy to keep connected without having to pull your smartphone out of your pocket constantly. Omate has a couple smartwatches already on the market and it has taken to Facebook to announce two more devices that will be part of its spring-summer 2015 collection.
The two watches are the Omate Racer and the Omate Roma. Omate doesn’t offer much in the way of detail on the Roma, but we do get some info on the Racer. Both of the watches will be among the first to use the ARM7 MediaTek Aster chipset. They will both work with Android and iOS devices.
The Racer will go up for pre-order on January 5 for $99. It will be available at that $99 price until January 15. On January 16 through the 31st, you will still be able to pre-order the Racer, but it will cost you $129. Anyone who pre-orders the watch will get it by the end of February 2015. Both of the devices use the Wearables by MediaTek Labs development platform and support OTA updates.
