Images have been discovered this week indicating the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) company maybe in the process of developing a new laptop or tablet hybrid system for education and children in the form of the new XO Infinity with Australian partner, One Education.
The images were discovered by the Ink, Bits & Pixels website within the One Educations website and even though the company has confirmed that the XO Infinity hardware is under development very little is known about the device.
The newly released images provide more information on the possibility of the said device, being a laptop or hybrid tablet and show that the display can be removed from the keyboard if desired. Other features that can be gleaned from the images suggest the devices will be equipped with a modular design allowing components to be removed and upgraded when required such as the processor, camera battery and wireless connectivity unit. Whether these images are the latest prototypes or just concepts has yet to be seen.
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released either as yet by OLPC, but the company is rumoured to unveil more details on the device in the coming weeks and as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
