This week it has been announced over on the Nvidia website that the new Nvidia Shield games console equipped with a large 500GB storage drive will cost $300 when it launches next month.
The smaller 16GB version of the Nvidia games console is priced at $200 and is powered by a Nvidia Tegra X1 processor with a 256-core Maxwell GPU equipped with 3GB RAM all running Google’s Android operating system.
Other features of the Nvidia Shield include 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound with 4K Ultra HD video together with connectivity provide by Bluetooth 4.1 BLE and wireless 2.4GHz and 5GHz support. Last month Nvidia also announced their new cloud based games service in the form of Nvidia GRID :
“Powered by the worlds most advanced gaming supercomputer in the cloud, Nvidia GRID is a game streaming service that delivers PC quality gaming to the living room. HIELD enables a new class of Android games– with immersive gameplay, intense multiplayer action and stunning graphics.”
