Over the weekend Barnes & Noble has been rumoured to be rolling out a new update for their Nook Simple Touch ebook reader that will bring with it a handy web browser and email client to the device.
A leaked email from Barnes & Noble reported by the technology website Tech Crunch, revealed the news, however it has yet to be confirmed or denied by Barnes & Noble.
If the rumour and email are true Nook Simple Touch and Simple Touch owners with Glowlight will be receiving the over-the-air update sometime next month.
The web browser and email client will be the first time that Nook’s entry-level ebook readers ail, have access to web browsing capabilities. Previously all they could do with the Wi-Fi connection was surf the Barnes & Noble bookstore and download content.
