Yesterday, Nokia announced their latest Symbian smartphone, the Nokia 808 PureView, and now it looks like we have a possible release date for the device.
We just got another email from a UK retailer who has put the device up for pre-order and is expecting the Nokia 808 PureView to be available in the UK from the 23rd of April.
As a reminder, the Nokia 808 PureView comes with Symbian Belle and features a 41-megapixel camera and a 4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels.
Impressive Camera Technology
The standout feature of the Nokia 808 PureView is undoubtedly its 41-megapixel camera. This groundbreaking camera technology is designed to provide exceptional image quality, even in low-light conditions. The camera uses a technique called pixel oversampling, which combines multiple pixels to create a single, high-quality pixel. This results in sharper, clearer images with less noise. Additionally, the camera offers full HD 1080p video recording, complete with high-quality audio capture, making it a versatile tool for both photography and videography enthusiasts.
Hardware and Performance
Other specifications include a 1.3GHz single-core processor, which, while not the most powerful by today’s standards, is sufficient for running the Symbian Belle operating system smoothly. The device comes with 16GB of built-in storage, which should be ample for most users. However, for those who need more space, the Nokia 808 PureView also features a microSD card slot that can accommodate cards of up to 32GB. This expandable storage option ensures that users can store a large number of high-resolution photos and videos without running out of space.
The 4-inch AMOLED display, with its 640 x 960 pixel resolution, offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for viewing photos and videos. The display is also designed to be energy-efficient, helping to extend the battery life of the device.
It looks like the Nokia 808 PureView will retail for £464.98, including taxes, when it launches in the UK in April. We don’t yet have any information on which mobile carriers it will be available with, but given the device’s impressive specifications, it is likely to be offered by several major carriers.
In addition to its camera and display, the Nokia 808 PureView includes a range of other features designed to enhance the user experience. These include GPS navigation, NFC (Near Field Communication) for easy sharing and payments, and a range of pre-installed apps for social networking, productivity, and entertainment.
The Nokia 808 PureView represents a significant step forward for Nokia and the Symbian platform. Its innovative camera technology and solid hardware specifications make it a compelling choice for anyone looking for a high-quality smartphone with exceptional photographic capabilities.
