Nokia 8 is expected to see the light of the day on August 16 which is still a few days away, and in the meantime, we expect to see a lot of rumors of the upcoming flagship device from HMD Global.
Recently, a leak on Baidu revealed the camera interface of the alleged Nokia 8, which shows a quite similar user interface as the current Nokia devices available in the market with minor changes.
Camera Interface and Features
As it can be seen from the images above, there’s a menu icon on the top left corner which opens the camera setup options. Three options are shown, including RGB, dual-lens, or Monochrome sensor. This indicates that the handset will come with a dual-camera setting, offering users improved photographic capabilities. The dual-camera setup is expected to enhance image quality, especially in low-light conditions, and provide more depth and detail in photos.
The inclusion of a monochrome sensor alongside the RGB sensor is particularly interesting. Monochrome sensors capture more light and detail compared to RGB sensors, which can result in sharper and more detailed images. This setup is similar to what we’ve seen in other high-end smartphones, such as the Huawei P series, which also uses a combination of RGB and monochrome sensors to improve image quality.
Expected Specifications and Features
Rumors suggest the handset will come with a 5.3-inch QHD display, which should offer vibrant colors and sharp details, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, which was Qualcomm’s flagship processor at the time. This should ensure smooth performance and efficient multitasking.
In terms of memory, the Nokia 8 is rumored to come with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. This should provide ample memory for running multiple apps simultaneously and ensure a smooth user experience. The device is also expected to come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, which was the latest version of Android at the time. This should provide users with the latest features and security updates.
The 13MP Zeiss branded dual-camera setup is another highlight of the device. Zeiss optics are known for their high quality, and their inclusion in the Nokia 8 should result in excellent photo and video quality. The dual-camera setup should also enable features such as optical zoom and portrait mode, which are popular in high-end smartphones.
Additionally, the Nokia 8 is expected to come with a range of other features, such as a fingerprint sensor for added security, fast charging support, and possibly even water and dust resistance. These features should make the Nokia 8 a competitive option in the high-end smartphone market.
The launch date is just around the corner, and we are eagerly waiting to see what HMD Global has in store for us with the Nokia 8. The device has the potential to be a strong contender in the high-end smartphone market, thanks to its impressive specifications and features.
We’ll update you as soon as the handset is officially announced.
