It looks like Microsoft [MSFT] has decided to leave an important feature out of Windows Phone 7 smartphones, Copy and Paste.
Microsoft’s Windows Phone Executive Todd Brix said “We don’t enable copy and paste and we do that very intentionally”, it does seem somewhat of a strange move considering the amount of hassle Apple received over the lack of copy and paste in the iPhone.
Instead, Windows Phone 7 will have something called smart linking, which will let you double-click on a phone number and either call it or add it to your phonebook. This feature aims to streamline certain tasks, making it easier for users to interact with phone numbers and addresses directly from their messages or emails. However, this does not fully compensate for the absence of a more versatile copy and paste function.
