We saw the new Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign last week, and the car is being showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week.
Now it has been revealed that Nissan will produce a limited run of their new GT-R50, with around 50 cars set to be made. Each one will cost around £800,000.
Performance and Engineering Excellence
Underneath the new shape, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is all business. Drawing on Nissan’s GT3 racing experience, the NISMO organization enhanced the hand-assembled 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine to produce an estimated 720ps and 780 Nm of torque.
Changes to the power plant include optimized twin high-flow, large-diameter GT3 competition-spec turbochargers and larger intercoolers; heavy-duty crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and bearings; high-flow piston oil jets; revised camshaft profiles; higher-flow fuel injectors; and optimized ignition, intake and exhaust systems. A reinforced dual-clutch sequential six-speed rear transaxle and stronger differentials and drive shafts direct the power to the wheels.
The GT-R50 is not just about raw power; it also features a sophisticated suspension system. The Bilstein DampTronic I continuously adjustable damping system ensures that the car can handle both high-speed tracks and winding roads with ease. The braking system has also been upgraded with Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, providing exceptional stopping power.
Design and Customization
The exterior design of the GT-R50 by Italdesign is a blend of futuristic aesthetics and functional aerodynamics. The car features a distinctive gold and silver color scheme, with a lowered roofline and a more aggressive stance. The front fascia is dominated by a large grille and sleek LED headlights, while the rear features a prominent wing and quad exhaust tips.
Inside, the GT-R50 offers a luxurious yet sporty cabin. High-quality materials such as Alcantara and Italian leather are used throughout, and the seats are designed to provide maximum support during high-speed maneuvers. The dashboard features a custom interface that allows drivers to monitor various performance metrics in real-time.
Each of the 50 units will be highly customizable, allowing owners to choose from a range of colors, materials, and finishes. This level of personalization ensures that no two GT-R50s will be exactly alike, making each car a unique masterpiece.
