The new Apple TV was launched recently and now according to a recent report, Apple is getting ready to put its successor into production.
According to a recent report, Apple is testing a trial production run of their next generation Apple TV this month and then intends to head to volume production of the device in quarter one 2016.
The report also says that Apple is planning to make some major changes in next years Apple TV, this is said to include a new processor which will bring significantly improved performance to the device.
Apple is planning to adopt a new CPU for the fifth-generation Apple TV to dramatically improve the device’s hardware performance and will add new functions to help it no longer serve only as a set-top box (STB).
The 4th generation TV from Apple which just launched comes with apps and games, we wonder if this new more powerful processor is also designed to bring improved gaming to Apple’s tvOS.
We are not expecting Apple’s next generation TV set top box to launch much later in 2016 probably around September or October, we doubt the company would launch a new one so soon after the release of the fourth generation model.
